Global bets on who will sit in the White House in the U.S. election?

The U.S. presidential election will be held on November 3, 2011. In addition to Americans, I believe that many people around the world are very concerned about this election. According to the latest polls of several American media, Biden’s approval rating is still ahead of Trump’s. However, most of the gamblers have another opinion. However, most punters have a different view.

According to Yahoo News today, British bookmakers are pointing to more than $1 billion in bets worldwide on the U.S. presidential election, outpacing all sporting events.

Matthew Shaddick, director of British bookmaker GVC Holdings, estimates that global wagers on the next U.S. presidential candidate have totaled more than $1 billion, not only doubling the 2016 total, but outpacing all sporting events. Biden is the favorite, but gamblers have a different perspective, with a huge increase in bets on Trump’s re-election last week.

The report cites Forbes news that BetOnline, an offshore business in Panama, noted that more than 70 percent of the money wagered was on Trump to win. Since Trump is the odds-on favorite, the company says that if Trump ends up winning, the odds are stacked against him. If Trump ends up winning, BetOnline will lose millions of dollars, the company said.
