On May 10, officials informed that Xiao Yi, vice chairman of the Chinese Communist Party’s Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, is suspected of serious disciplinary violations and is currently under investigation.

Xiao Yi has served as deputy secretary and secretary of the Ruijin Municipal Committee, deputy mayor of Ganzhou City, deputy director of the Jiangxi Provincial Office in Beijing, deputy secretary-general of the Jiangxi Provincial Government, and secretary of the Fuzhou Municipal Committee.
In January 2018, Xiao Yi served as vice chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and secretary of the Fuzhou Municipal Committee.
Since March this year, Xiao Yi has stepped down from his post as Fuzhou Municipal Party Secretary and served only as Vice Chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
Xiao Yi is a native of Ganzhou, Jiangxi, and has been serving in Jiangxi. According to the media, Xiao Yi is the “third tiger” to be investigated in Jiangxi Province after the 19th CPC National Congress, following the former vice governor Li Yihuang and the former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Shi Wenqing, and the eighth “tiger” to be investigated and dealt with by the Commission for Discipline Inspection this year.
Previously, the two subordinates who worked with Xiao Yi, the former Standing Committee of the Municipal Committee of Fuzhou City, Vice Mayor Wu Jianchun and the former Vice Mayor of Fuzhou City, Fang Baichun have fallen.
In September 2017, then Fuzhou Municipal Committee Standing Committee, deputy mayor Wu Jianchun was investigated. Wu Jianchun was the vice mayor of Fuzhou City and the director of the Public Security Bureau, among others. Two and a half months after his fall, Wu Jianchun was double-opened.
In August 2020, Fang Bachun, vice mayor of Fuzhou City, was investigated during his tenure. Fang Bachun has been a member of the party group and deputy mayor of Fuzhou City Government since November 2016. In January this year its was double-opened. The briefing said that Fang Bachun greed for money and enrichment, and unscrupulous businessmen were greatly engaged in power and money transactions, etc.
