Data Revealed: Biden Gave the Majority of Appointments to Democrats Trump Administration is the Most Balanced

National Pulse reported over the weekend that new research shows that the vast majority of appointments in the Biden administration have gone to the left, and the chart above shows that the Trump administration has made the most balanced political appointments of any U.S. administration in decades, leading many to believe that the Trump administration is hampered by Trump’s sense of fair play.

Despite constant media claims that Trump is so ideologically divisive and polarizing, Trump has made the most ideologically balanced political appointments of any president in decades.

Data shows that over 80 percent of political appointments under Clinton and Obama were Democrats, only 10 percent were Republicans, and 10 percent were Independents. Bush appointments were closer to balanced, with about 60 percent of appointees being Republicans and about 30 percent Democrats. By contrast, under Trump, only about 50 percent of political appointments are Republican, about 30 percent are Democrat, and about 15 percent are independent.

Northwestern University’s (Northwestern University) Kellogg School of Management (Kellogg School) and the University of California Berkeley’s (University of California Berkeley) Haas School of Business (Haas School) Researchers at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, completed a study entitled “Ideology and Performance in Public Organizsation,” which provided the above data on political appointments.

The study also noted that “Democrats make up the majority of public servants. As positions increase, the percentage of Democrats also increases.”
