Tesla’s official microblog announced on Saturday (8) that effective immediately the Model3 standard range upgrade model was raised by RMB 1,000 and now stands at RMB 250,900, the first price increase for the Chinese-made Model3. The price of some models on the U.S. website has also been raised slightly, with the Tesla entry model now up from about $37,000 in February to about $39,500.
This is also Tesla’s second price increase in the Chinese market, the company had previously raised the price of the Model Y by RMB 8,000 on March 24.
Tesla has already raised the price of some models in the United States on March 7. Here are the latest Model 3 prices as shown on the official website.
Standard Range Plus: $39,490, up $500 ($37,000 in February)
Long Range AWD: $48,490, up $500 ($46,490 in March)
Performance version (Performance): $56,990, unchanged
In addition to the Model 3, the price of the Model Y Long Range Edition has also been increased by $500, from $50,990 to $51,490.
Elektrek reports that while Tesla regularly adjusts its prices, it has never done so as often as it has in the past four months, and the adjustments are smaller than ever.
Tesla had adjusted the prices of the Model 3 and Model Y in the U.S. in February, mostly downward, then up a wave in early March, then up again at the end of March for the Model 3, then up again in April for the Model 3 and Model Y, and then up again by a small margin at the end of April.
