The Bongino Show reported on May 6 that a growing number of studies have found that the embargo is just not worth it, and a recent study analyzed the recession and recovery in states that voted for Trump and Biden, showing that the “Trump states” are leading the U.S. economic recovery, while the “Biden states” are lagging badly. During the Communist virus epidemic, the percentage of unemployed people in states that voted for Biden was double that of the Trump states.
While states led by Republican governors are usually more lenient in enforcing the embargo, Democratic-run states seem ready to shut down businesses into the next century, with the exception of course of when their governors need to eat.
Between February and December of last year, total employment fell by an average of 6.2 percent in states that supported Biden and 2.5 percent in states that voted Republican, the Daily Mail said.
The 13 states with the smallest employment declines all leaned strongly Republican, led by Alaska and Utah, which actually saw employment, respectively, increase by 0.7 percent and 0.3 percent.
At the other end of the spectrum, 13 of the 14 states with the worst losses in the epidemic voted for Democratic candidates, including Nevada with 10.2% job losses and Hawaii with 9.3%.
Republican states tend to have “right-to-work” laws that prohibit mandatory unionization, lower taxes, lower minimum wages and lower unemployment rates, with the median unemployment rate in December 2020 being 4.6 percent in the 25 states governed by the unified Republican Party. Democratic states tend to have higher taxes, higher minimum wages, higher costs of living and higher unemployment rates, with the 15 blue states having an average unemployment rate of 7.8 percent.
Democratic governors in California, New York and Michigan are much stricter than Republican governors in Florida, South Dakota and Texas when it comes to shutting down economic and sporting activities. California and Florida, New York and South Dakota, and Michigan and Texas, the 3 groups of states, had roughly the same number of deaths as each other and very different economic performance.
The study also found that residents of blue states have fled, with New York leading the way and Florida being the preferred destination for those fleeing this.
Sadly, those fleeing blue states are likely to vote for the same backward policies that govern their new home, the red states.
