WHO lists national drug vaccines for use Two doses for ages 18 and older

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Friday (7) that the Chinese national vaccine has been added to the “emergency use list”, becoming the sixth vaccine to be certified by WHO.

According to WHO criteria, new vaccines with an efficacy rate of more than 50 percent, preferably close to or above 70 percent, and a good safety profile can be added to the emergency use list. The WHO Advisory Panel on Immunization Strategies recommended two doses of the national vaccine for people over 18 years of age, but had low confidence in the safety risk data for people over 60 years of age.

Vaccines currently on the “emergency use list” include those developed by Pfizer in collaboration with German biotech company BioNTech, Oxford University and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca in the United Kingdom, Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose New Crown vaccine, and the U.S. Pharmaceutical company Modena vaccine, etc. The national vaccine is the first inactivated vaccine on the list.
