A lawsuit has been filed by a legal group after it was discovered that at least 21,000 people on Pennsylvania’s voter rolls are deceased.
According to Breitbart News, the lawsuit filed by the Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) alleges that at least 21,000 people on Pennsylvania’s voter rolls are dead and that Pennsylvania failed to “reasonably maintain” voter registration records in time for the 2020 presidential election under federal and state law.
The lawsuit reads, “As of Oct. 7, 2020, at least 9,212 registrants had been dead for at least five years, at least 1,990 registrants had been dead for at least 10 years, and at least 197 registrants had been dead for at least 20 years.”
“With less than a month to go before the most important election for federal officials in years, there are still more than 21,000 names of dead people on Pennsylvania’s voter rolls.”
In addition, about 92 percent of those 21,000 dead voters died before October 2019; about 216 of the deceased also show voting records after their death dates were listed by the federal government in 2016 and 2018.
Christian Adams, PILF’s founder and president, said in a statement, “This case is about making sure that those deceased voters don’t receive a ballot, and this case is not complicated.”
Adams also said that they have been providing Pennsylvania officials with specific data on deceased registrants for nearly a year so that the matter can be handled properly in anticipation of a tense voting day. If there is a push for mail-in voting, all of the errors that have previously been made in maintaining voter lists will show up and cause problems.
Pennsylvania election officials acknowledged in May of this year that some registered voters were receiving duplicate mail-in ballots.
