Poll: Most people who don’t get vaccinated say they won’t change their minds

The Economist/YouGov survey of 1,500 U.S. adults, conducted May 1-4, released its results this week, Breitbart News reported May 6. The survey asked people who were not planning to get vaccinated if there was “anything” that could change their minds and convince them to get vaccinated. An overwhelming 79 percent responded, “No,” indicating a strong position.

Previously, Dr. Fauci kept pushing up the percentage to reach herd immunity, saying that vaccination rates of 80% or more were needed to reach herd immunity. Later Fauci simply stated, “Forget about herd immunity for now. Vaccinate enough people and the infection rate will go down.”

Some Democratic governors, such as Pennsylvania’s Gov. Tom Wolf, have linked the elimination of the statewide mandatory mask requirement to a certain percentage of the population being vaccinated, claiming that the percentage is 70 percent.

According to the CDC on May 5, more than 107 million people in the United States, or 32.3 percent of the population, have been “fully vaccinated.
