Some people questioned that the motive of the sudden succession of Chinese people smuggling to Taiwan may not be that simple at a time when the relationship between Taiwan and China is getting tense.

This is the second incident of mainlanders smuggled into Taiwan within five days. On the night of April 30, a mainland man surnamed Zhou drove a rubber dinghy equipped with an outboard motor and 90 liters of fuel from Fujian and smuggled into Taiwan without incident.
