Biden Says His Infrastructure Plan Has Bipartisan Support, Hawley Rebuts

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley.

While President Joe Biden said his $2.3 trillion infrastructure plan has bipartisan support, he was quickly contradicted by Republican U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Texas), who said Tuesday, May 4, that no Republican would like Biden to bring socialism to America.

In an interview with Fox News on Tuesday, Hawley said, “I don’t know who the Republicans are that President Biden is talking about nationwide, but none of them live in Missouri. I can’t imagine Republicans supporting his infrastructure legislation and the ‘socialist’ agenda it contains. Bringing socialism to America, that’s basically his (Biden’s) plan.”

Hawley said Biden has proposed $4 trillion in government spending in the past month that includes an infrastructure bill and a family bill, of which nearly $2 trillion has already been spent this year. “It’s crazy that he’s proposing to do that, and I don’t think there’s certainly any broad support from Republicans or independents for that.” He also noted that “(Biden) is mortgaging everyone’s future to fund programs on the left, and by eliminating energy industry jobs, he is helping the Communist Party win in the global race.”

On the same day, Hawley’s new book, “The Tyranny of Big Tech,” was officially released by Regnery Publishing. The book focuses on how the power of today’s big tech monopolies in the U.S. has become so great that they are far more powerful than the government, and how they have completely suppressed democratic freedoms in the U.S. The book also points out how to take back democracy for the American people, among other things.
