Korea’s Lotte department store staff infected with the epidemic food stores emergency closure

The Lotte Department Store’s fresh food store in Seoul’s Central District has been reported to have been infected with the Chinese Communist virus, and the store has suspended operations. The epidemic prevention authorities sent an emergency disaster bulletin to residents of the metropolitan area on April 4, asking people who visited the Lotte Department Store’s fresh food store on the first basement floor of the food hall from April 25 to May 2 to go to a nearby health center for testing as soon as possible.

The Korean United Press Agency (Yonhap) reported that after an employee of the Lotte Department Store’s fresh food store was diagnosed on the first day, the epidemic prevention authorities have been testing and investigating 153 department store employees working on the same floor, and a total of nine people have been diagnosed by yesterday (4th).

Since customers who dine in the dining area on the same floor are bound to take off their masks, the possibility of contact infection is greatly increased. The company is calling on people who have been to the store from April 25 to May 2 to take the initiative to be tested.

On the 3rd, Lotte Department Store has suspended the operation of the 1st floor food hall, and issued an announcement on the site and website, mobile application (app), tentatively suspended until the 5th, and depending on the subsequent situation to decide whether to resume business.

The total number of confirmed cases in South Korea as of 00:00 a.m. on the 4th is 124,269, with 1,840 cases of infected disease slain. 582 cases were added between 00:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., an increase of 173 cases compared to the same period the day before, and the total number of confirmed cases for the whole day may again exceed 700.
