Vicious wiki case: Niu Teng Yu for the first time in nearly two years will mother lawyer: the second trial verdict full of absurdity

Niu Tengyu’s mother arrived at Guangdong Maoming Detention Center No. 1 on May 3 and was allowed to meet with her son, who has been detained for nearly two years.

“After his appeal was rejected, he was finally allowed to meet with his mother, who had been away for nearly two years. During the meeting, mother and son embraced and cried, complaining that the second trial did not uphold justice, while Niu Tengyu insisted that he was not guilty and continued to appeal. The attorney requested to meet with Niu Tengyu again, but was refused. The 24 netizens in the case were heavily sentenced for leaking personal information about Xi Jinping’s family. “The mother of Niu Tengyu, the main culprit in the “Vulgar Wiki” case, was allowed to visit her son in a rare visit to the detention center on Monday (3), the first time she has seen him since his arrest in August 2019, 20 months ago.

The mother of Niu Tengyu recalled to the station the meeting, the child heard that his grandfather and grandmother passed away one after another because of his imprisonment, he could not control his emotions and cried. But Niu Tengyu may not want his mother to be further stimulated, not to mention the details of the torture, but also do not want her mother to see the right finger has been disabled.

Niu Teng Yu’s mother said: Yesterday, when I saw my child, Niu Teng Yu smiled at me, he fought back tears, he said “Mom you have to take care of yourself, do not worry too much about me. I told him about the torture, he said I told the lawyer, that is a process, you do not ask more questions.

The mother of Niu Teng Yu said her child still insists he was wrongly accused, complaining that the second trial did not uphold justice.

Niu Teng Yu’s mother: He said he was wronged and became a scapegoat. Especially the second trial has not been corrected. He said I remembered when he was beaten in Foshan. He said the website was really the work of Gu Yang Yang, questioning his family’s power and money dealings. The police said, “Don’t mention Gu Yang Yang, if you mention it again, your teeth will be knocked out,” because those people were afraid that he would come out and tell the truth.

Niu Teng Yu’s mother revealed that Niu Teng Yu is still fighting for his rights, earlier he was informed of the result of the second trial, and was prevented from meeting with his lawyer, he has already written his own complaint.

He said he had already written his complaint. He said he had written many things in the past, but they were held up and would not go up. He said, “Mom, why are they so afraid of this case? What is being hidden here, and why am I not allowed to file a complaint or see a lawyer?”

Niu Tengyu’s mother told her children that the case had received international attention and that she had met with human rights officials from nine countries, hoping that Xi Jinping would be aware of the case so that they would be able to redress their grievances.

On the other hand, last week, Niu Tengyu’s defense lawyers went to Guangdong’s Maoming No. 1 Detention Center several times to request a meeting with their client, but were denied by the other side on the grounds that the second trial verdict had taken effect. Bao Longjun, one of the defense lawyers, said that the second trial verdict is full of absurdities and doubts, with the verdict date in the sentencing document being March 26, while the sentencing was announced on April 23, and the court blatantly said that the lawyers refused to submit defense opinions.

Bao Longjun said: this case has many doubts, it should be open to the public hearing, the second trial court did not respond to all the applications of the defense, without asking the defense’s opinion, but in the judgment to say that “the defense lawyers refused to submit a defense”, which is untrue, because they did not This is untrue, because they did not ask the defense in writing, and the defense could not have submitted a defense statement if the case file was incomplete. Without the defense’s opinion, and without a trial, it issued a second instance verdict.

Bao Longjun pointed out that the second trial judge Zhang Shuming arrogated the right to participate in the sentencing of the first trial, and the lawyer’s application for his recusal was rejected. The lawyers will continue to sue for violations of the law in the course of the case, and will seek justice for Niu Tengyu to the end.

Xiao Yanrui, the founder of “Vulgar Wiki” who currently lives in Japan, believes that the international attention on the case has pulled the rug out from under this injustice, and that the authorities must respond to the fact that Guangdong’s public prosecutors and law enforcement agencies are handling the case illegally.

Xiao Yanrui said: “The local public prosecutor is still quite afraid of overseas reports, so the whole world is still highly concerned about this matter, then I hope that China can have some reasonable judgment, Maoming should recognize their mistakes; then the Guangdong Provincial Department should also recognize that this case is the wrong case, should have to make changes, then the top should also reflect on why the people underneath made such a concealment of things. Xi Jinping’s daughter Xi Mingze

The personal information of Xi Jinping’s daughter Xi Mingze and brother-in-law Deng Jiagui was exposed on an overseas website in May 2019, and the task force subsequently arrested a total of 24 people who were operators and members of the “Vulgar Wiki” website on the mainland, who complained of being tortured to extract confessions while in custody.

Niu Tengyu, a 20-year-old operator of the “Vulgar Wiki”, was charged as the main culprit and sentenced to 14 years and a fine of 130,000 yuan in the first trial late last year. The court announced last month that the sentence was upheld in the second trial.
