It’s Time for Action Arizona Legislature to Hold Election Hearing with Trump Lawyers

President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani attends an election hearing in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, USA, November 25, 2020.

The Arizona Legislature plans to hold an election integrity hearing next Monday, Nov. 30, that will include President Trump’s attorneys, Jenna Ellis and Rudy Giuliani.

Giuliani, Ellis and others held a hearing Wednesday (Nov. 25) in front of Pennsylvania’s Republican senators, who argued that the state legislature should take steps to restore the power to appoint members to the electoral college. Several witnesses who have witnessed the illegal or irregular counting of ballots in the state also provided testimony at the hearing.

According to the Republican members of the Arizona Legislature, the purpose of the hearing was to “gather evidence that a special session is needed to figure out what happened and to take swift action,”

In a statement provided by Republican members of the legislature, Ellis said, “We are pleased that the state legislatures of Pennsylvania, Arizona and Michigan will all be holding hearings to review the November 3 presidential election.”

Meanwhile, as some Republican senators in Pennsylvania have said, the Arizona legislature has also noted that the U.S. Constitution gives state legislatures the power to hold hearings on election irregularities and fraud.

Their statement said, “Under the U.S. Constitution, state legislatures have the sole authority to elect electoral college delegates, providing critical safeguards against voter fraud and election manipulation.” . .

As was the case in Pennsylvania, Democratic candidate Joe Biden’s lead over Trump in Arizona is slim. Biden leads the president by roughly 11,000 votes in the state.

At the Pennsylvania hearing, Ellis and Giuliani recommended that the legislature use its power to appoint state electors, a right granted by the Constitution.

State Republican Senator Doug Mastriano said Friday (Nov. 27) that the Republican-controlled Pennsylvania House and Senate may act to take back their power to appoint electors.

He told Steve Bannon’s “War Room” show Friday, “So we’re going to have a resolution in the House and the Senate, hopefully today,” he said. “I spent two hours connected to coordinate this with my colleagues. There’s a lot of good staff here. The Senate resolution says we’re going to take back our power and we’re going to let the electors have their seats. Now, we obviously need the support of the House and Senate leadership, and we’re working to do that.”

The Republican congressman said, “There is too much evidence of fraud and deception in this election for us to stand by and watch it happen all around us.” He added, “If there is widespread fraud, then it’s up to Congress to step in. So we’re going to fight, we’re going to fight. We’ll fight all the way to the Supreme Court if we have to.”
