Rajendra Kapila, an Indian-American infectious disease specialist, died on March 3 after contracting an epidemic in which he received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine, but was still unable to beat the Indian variant of the virus.
Media website Latestnewssouthafrica.com reports that it has been confirmed on social media that Kapila, an infectious disease specialist, died after being diagnosed with the new coronavirus.
Sources said Kabila died quickly after contracting the disease while traveling to Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, to care for his ailing father-in-law. He had received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine, but was still unbeaten by the Indian variant of the virus.
Kabila received his medical degree from the University of Delhi after completing his pre-medical degree at St. Xavier’s College Calcutta. After completing his residency training, he moved to the United States and served his internship, residency and fellowship at Martland Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.
