Hong Kong Apple Daily reported that this is the decision of the new Hong Kong Broadcasting Director Lee Pak-chuen. The report quoted members of RTHK as saying that Li Baiquan’s move “is basically a purge of history” and that some of the videos of the highly rated “Clang Collection” may disappear in a short period of time.
The report said that at present, RTHK YouTube channel, many of the episodes of the popular program have been on the shelves for more than a year, including “7.21 Yuen Long Dark Night”, which was put on the shelves on July 29, 2019, and has accumulated more than 1.3 million views. “7.21 Who Owns the Truth”, which hit the shelves on July 13, 2020, has already accumulated more than 1.55 million views.

Li Baiquan said in his reply to a Legislative Council member’s question on RTHK’s budget last month that from July 1, 2016 to February 28, 2021, the most watched TV program on RTHK’s YouTube channel was “Clanging Episode” with 78.56 million views, followed by “Headliner” and “Viewpoint 31”, with 25.91 million and 24.26 million views respectively.
