Before Thanksgiving, Vice President-elect Harris stopped by a community kitchen in Washington, D.C., to give holiday greetings to the volunteers who work there.

On November 25, Vice President-elect Harris joined her husband, Doug Emhoff, at the DC Central Kitchen, a community in Washington, D.C., to send Thanksgiving greetings to the volunteers there.

Harris said, “One in six families in the U.S. say their children are starving. One in five families say they can’t pay their rent. These are real issues, and these people we’re talking about, no matter who they voted for, should have leaders who see them through the lens of their lives.
On Tuesday, Chance the Rapper and his charitable organization, SocialWorks, visited a Chicago neighborhood to deliver a free turkey to its residents.
Chance the Rapper said, “Just like they see us as family, SocialWorks is important to us as a family – so we try to give back to the community as much as we can,” said Chance the Rapper. Volunteer Pamela Jenkins said, “All the people are happy. Some of them waited in line, in the car, for two hours, some of them for three hours. They were very happy to get what they could pick up.
On the 25th of March, the Los Angeles, CA non-profit charitable organization, Mission Los Angeles, continued its annual food and necessities distribution to help low-income people in need.
Chef David Thomas of Mission Los Angeles said, “We are going to feed 4,000 people. My staff and I, we’ve been working hard to do just that, to make sure that those who don’t have the means to do so are able to enjoy a great Thanksgiving meal this year.
Recipient Samisa Antwi said, “After weeks and months of the new crown epidemic and all these unemployment issues, it’s great to have a sense of belonging. The way they recruit volunteers, the way everyone gets together and organizes the whole event, it’s such a holistic operation that it makes you feel some kind of self-worth.
