Huawei cried: the high-end market was stolen by Apple, the low-end to millet OPPO

Huawei consumer business CEO Yu Chengdong complained on WeChat circle of friends on the 30th, the United States in less than two years, four rounds of sanctions against Huawei, a round more than a round of vicious, Huawei’s consumer business forced to a desperate situation, unable to ship, “the high-end market are mainly given to Apple.”

Yu Chengdong further pointed out that Huawei’s cell phone tablet’s domestic market high-end gave way to Apple, mid-range and low-end gave way to OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi, etc., overseas gave way to Apple, Samsung and domestic counterparts.

According to Apple’s latest earnings report, Apple’s iPhone sales grew 65.5% last quarter compared to the same period last year, especially revenue from China, which achieved an 87% increase.

Not only that, but third-party organizations such as IDC and Canalys also recently released first-quarter data showing that Huawei stacked up in the top five positions globally, with the current top five being Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo in that order.

According to Huawei’s financial report, Huawei’s consumer business annual revenue in 2020 was 482.9 billion yuan, up 3.3% year-on-year, and shipments of cell phone products fell sharply, showing the huge impact caused by the sanctions.

Yu Chengdong has also previously said that after being repeatedly sanctioned by the U.S. side, Huawei’s cell phone business has been seriously affected, thinking about it, Huawei decided to sell cars, which can make up for the decline in profits caused by the impact on cell phone business sales.

Yu also said that Huawei cell phones such as high-frequency, just demand, mass products encountered huge difficulties, intelligent electric car sales, although not as large as cell phones, but high unit price, high sense of value, is the only product that can make up for the lack of cell phone sales.
