According to a survey released today, more than half of the young people surveyed are not optimistic about the future and want to leave Hong Kong for development, according to the Central News Agency on Thursday.
Official Radio Television Hong Kong reports that the survey was commissioned by the Lions Club and conducted by the Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong to understand the views of local youth on the future.
The survey was conducted from March 19 to April 8, interviewing 803 Hong Kong people aged 15 to 30. The results show that more than half of the respondents said they want to leave Hong Kong for development, and the results are similar to those in 2018.
Besides, if we use a perfect score of 10, the respondents only gave 2.95 marks to the question of “optimism of Hong Kong society’s future”.
According to the survey, less than 10% of the respondents believe that working in the Greater Bay Area is no different from working in Hong Kong, and they are willing to work in the Greater Bay Area, reflecting the low willingness of Hong Kong youths to develop in the Greater Bay Area.
