Born and raised in Beijing, Zhao Ting, the first Oscar-winning director born in mainland China, was still the “pride of China” mentioned in Chinese official media reports at the beginning of March, but now he is being blocked completely in mainland China. “This shows once again the new bottom line of the so-called “insulting China” and how ridiculous it is for the “pinkies” to have a fragile glass heart.
What is the distance from “Chinese pride” to “insulting China”? It turns out that it is because there is a “little pink” to find out the American film magazine “Filmmaker” in 2013, Zhao Ting said at that time that her childhood China is “a place full of lies”; and in another interview in Australia, Zhao Ting said that “America is now a place full of lies”. In another interview in Australia, Zhao Ting said, “America is my country now”; both of these statements are obviously factual, the former is only about her own perceptions, while the latter is a completely factual description, so why did it become an official Chinese Communist treason?
A few years ago, there was a march against parallel imports in Hong Kong, with people holding slogans like “Chinese people buy Chinese goods” and “Chinese people buy Chinese milk powder”. The “pinkies” cursed out that this was “Hong Kong independence” and “hurting the feelings of the Chinese people”; all these show a very simple question, that is, if China is not full of lies, why do people not drink Chinese milk powder? Why do people not drink Chinese milk powder?
The Sanlu milk powder scandal in 2008 has been around for 13 years now. Looking back at the news in the past few years, for example, after the implementation of the milk restriction in Hong Kong in 2013, the then Director of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, Wang Guangya, complained to a group of pro-communist legislators, alleging that even his granddaughter had problems with the supply of foreign milk powder because of the milk restriction in Hong Kong, saying that the incident had caused him “a big headache”. “Even in June 2019, three Chinese PLA warships visited Australia for a short stay of five days, but they bought boxes of milk powder and shipped them away. Even though the Global Times “clarified” for the PLA that “only 50 cans were bought,” the question arises, why did the soldiers buy milk powder back home? Is there no milk powder production in China?
Recently, China has been engaged in “vaccine diplomacy”, but as a result, all advanced countries in Europe and the United States have refused to use Chinese vaccines, and only some developing countries are willing to adopt Chinese vaccines; what about the people in mainland China? Before the outbreak of the epidemic in the past two years, Hong Kong became a “medical port”, and a large number of Chinese people from the mainland came to Hong Kong and specified “non-Chinese companies” and “non-Chinese” vaccines. The Chinese people from mainland China came to Hong Kong and asked for “non-Chinese” and “non-Chinese” vaccines, but for foreign products. Why do the Chinese themselves not trust Chinese vaccines?
The former president of Peru, Martin Vizcarra, “stealthily” received a vaccine from China in October last year, which became a scandal in local politics. These examples show that the Chinese people’s fears about their own vaccines are obvious, and that these vaccines “exaggerate” their effects, or that some of the pro-government claims are exaggerated. Why does it become “insulting” to say that these vaccines “exaggerate” their effects, or that some pro-government claims everywhere are “lies”?
It is only a criticism of the “false, big and empty” and the social atmosphere, in fact, there is no mention of politics or threats to the regime, but it can be completely blocked in the blink of an eye. It will only make the society regress further.
What is even more absurd is that any criticism of the current situation in mainland China nowadays becomes “Hong Kong independence” when it comes from Hong Kong, “Taiwan independence” when it comes from Taiwan, “Tibet independence” when it comes from Tibet, “Xinjiang independence” when it comes from Xinjiang. Xinjiang becomes “Xinjiang independence”, from Japan becomes “right-wing militarism”, from the United States, Britain and Europe becomes “collusion with foreign forces and the Eight-Power Allied Forces”, well, from China Mainland China, can not find the “independent” excuse, it has to be the next “insult to China”, really “want to add the crime, what is the problem”, in short, not to say lies, is the crime.
