South Korea is already this poor? Only give soldiers $25 NT bread with candles for their birthdays

The company’s newest product is a new product that will be available in the marketplace.

A Facebook user who used to post news about the South Korean Army said yesterday (25) that the army has a monthly birthday budget of 15,000 won (about 375 NTD) that is given to birthday cakes. But an army unit in Daegu has been using 1,000 won (about NT$25) of bread from the unit’s vending department instead of birthday cakes since March, and the account also included a soldier at the table with a cheese bread with candles in front of it.

The Facebook user said that it was not because he did not eat the cake and felt aggrieved, but because the budget was taxpayers’ money and the soldiers’ birthday cake budget was not used properly, possibly because there was a lack of transparency in the financial management of the troops.

In this regard, the South Korean military said that the army has not yet found a partner company to sign an agreement to provide “special birthday food”, so in March has explained the situation to the soldiers. The military said that the posting was made because of a misunderstanding among some soldiers during communication.

Many South Korean netizens questioned whether there is corruption in the military and that the budget must have gone into the pockets of the cadres, while some criticized the food of the troops, saying, “I heard that the meals of the troops are not as good as dog food these days. “However, there are also netizens who believe that “the budget is not important, birthday wishes are real” and “there is no need to allocate a budget. It is only true that commanders or fellow soldiers sincerely congratulate soldiers who have a birthday.”

An Army unit in Daegu used only 1,000 won (about 25 NT) to buy bread from the unit’s vending department for the soldiers’ birthdays.
