The Breitbart News reported Sunday, April 25, that Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s call to “unmask” violent protesters was not lost on the Black Lives Matter and Antifa groups, which created another riot in Portland hours after Mayor Wheeler’s comments went viral.
Portland Mayor Wheeler said Friday, “We must stand together as a community against this ongoing criminal intimidation and violence. Our job is to unmask them, arrest them, and prosecute them. People know who these criminals are.”
According to Breitbart News, a few hours later, a social media post called for a “Bloc Up” and then violence erupted again in Portland. The word “block up” is a code word for getting rioters to wear Antifa’s all-black costumes, masks and helmets.
Fox 12’s Drew Marine in Portland tweeted that demonstrators began blocking roads, smashing windows, painting graffiti and forcing their way into at least one restaurant that was still open, and that police declared the incident a riot and ordered the protesters to leave.
According to the Oregonian, in a speech Wheeler extended the city’s state of emergency and instructed Portland Police Bureau officers to “arrest anyone engaged in any crime.”
