At 18:57 on April 22, Xinjing News took the lead in disclosing the latest news about Tesla’s “Brake Gate”. It is reported that Tesla provided the reporter with the data of the vehicle one minute before the accident, showing that: when the driver pressed the brake pedal for the last time, the vehicle speed was 118.5 kilometers per hour. Moreover, after the driver pressed the brake pedal, the vehicle speed continued to decrease to 48.5 km/h before the collision occurred. And the driver drove the vehicle normally with the brake pedal depressed more than 40 times in the 30 minutes prior to the vehicle’s accident. The vehicle had multiple instances of exceeding 100 km/h and multiple braking stops. However, the previous female owner said that her family would not have been able to drive the vehicle to 100km/h under the prevailing road conditions.
Let’s talk about the matter. In the speed limit of 80 on the national highway speed 118.5km / h, so good? I looked at the table. The braking time was 18:14′23″17 – 18:14′27″45, and from 18:14′26″39, AEB automatic emergency braking intervened. Here to add a common sense, AEB (full name Autonomous Emergency Braking), refers to the vehicle in normal driving encounter sudden dangerous situation or with the car in front and pedestrian distance is less than the safety distance, and at the same time the driver did not apply sufficient braking action when the active braking. However, vehicles with this function are not necessarily able to brake the vehicle completely. So I think the female owner should send a flag to Tesla instead of stepping on the car to defend her rights. Because if the vehicle really failed to brake at 118.5km/h, at this moment the female owner’s grave is estimated to be full of grass.
Around Tesla’s “brake door” incident, the female owner of the Shanghai Auto Show site as the starting point, just two or three days from Tesla “never compromise” to “apologize deeply”, the public opinion is rising. The public opinion has been rising, and then on April 22, Tesla formally submitted the background data as a symbol, which is considered to have reached a stage conclusion. Regardless of the final outcome of the incident, it is destined to have a lasting impact on the development of electric vehicles in China.
Out of sensitivity to hot social events, I have been following the progress of the whole incident and reviewed the whole process through online public information. As the tide of this incident gradually dropped, a number of suspicions began to emerge. The biggest of these is how the female owner entered the auto show site. A friend of mine happened to be one of the builders of the auto show. According to him, the security at the show site was very strict because during the epidemic. The clothing items that came with them had to be opened and checked one by one. When going through the security check, you have to take off your jacket and only have your clothes close to your body. Under such circumstances, it was difficult for the female owner to keep the T-shirt she was wearing undetected.
In addition, the day of the incident was a non-public open day. The professional day of such a large international auto show is always hard to get a ticket. What is the special channel through which the female car owner applied for the document? Have friends noticed that this topic has been intentionally downplayed. Another easy to be ignored suspicion is that the news was first sent abroad after the incident, and then the domestic media of all sizes responded in time. This is damn near a textbook level of rights.
Other suspicions are numerous, so I will not cite them one by one. My comment is only one sentence: the job is a little brown. And when Tesla made the data public, someone really came out and shouted “data falsification. Some even said, “So this is Tesla’s data, I made the table is much more complicated than this”. It’s true that people with shit in their heads look at everything like shit!
And the owner’s side also lost no time to come out to fill in the knife: published without consent invasion of privacy. I’m baffled, face data is abused, you do not say it is an invasion of privacy; every day by a variety of information, pop-up advertising harassment, you do not say it is an invasion of privacy; only then want to get up to defend the right, is not a little not to speak of Wu De ah! It is estimated that at this moment the Tesla side has been crying in the toilet. Not working on the PR department at the beginning was definitely a strategic mistake.
Any disruptive innovation will be accompanied by the destruction of the old circle of interests, and thus become the target of all. There are many examples of this in the past and in the present. But even the strongest interest groups cannot stop the wheel of history. Tesla’s entry into China has created a disruptive impact on the high price of electric cars and fraudulent subsidies, media PR hype and traditional marketing channels. These are the “original sin” of Tesla. The Chinese tradition is that everyone is rich, play noble and do not fit in, deserve to be ostracized. But this is not enough to attract others to its death.
Few people have seriously thought about why Tesla was able to enter China and quickly gain a foothold in a situation where consumers generally lack recognition of electric cars. Is it because he’s good-looking? Because he is an American brand? Because he is cheap? Because he has a long range and fast speed? Or is it because he has a team that is particularly good at making PPT? In fact, none of them, Tesla just did a thing that other car companies do not do – invest heavily in the construction of a large number of charging stations. Visible sincerity is stronger than millions of empty slogans and promotional softwares. And in the “brake door” incident, Tesla can be found in the vehicle collision after the first call to the owner. The practice exceeds the majority of car companies.
When it comes to the next market that car companies are fighting for, it is city-level autonomous driving. Cars are not missiles, after all. Once the missile is shot, it is basically left alone. The car is not. Safe to go out, but also need to return home safely. The smartness of a car depends on the collection and analysis of a lot of data. In other words, even if a car is loaded with the most advanced LIDAR, the fastest processor, the most powerful chip, the most flashy system. But if there is not enough data to train the AI, it is also a “stupid car” loaded with high-end equipment. In this regard, Tesla, with a huge market share, again ran ahead of many car companies. When others are still learning the four operations, Tesla has already graduated from college. This piece of meat, a little fat ah! The world’s car companies do not envy.
So, to open the “brake door” fog can be found, the female owner refused to accept the third-party authority testing, but insisted that Tesla provide all the data. This is already beyond the routine of the general rights defenders. As for the future, there will be industry associations and other organizations, for safety reasons, all car companies must upload real-time data on the road for the record is also not yet known. Anyway, when I was in school, both good and bad students’ homework was handed in together. I hope Tesla will recognize the situation and return to the people’s team as soon as possible.
Some people think that Tesla has “apologized profusely”. This means that Tesla is scared and Musk is scared to death. That means they don’t know Musk at all, and they don’t understand what Musk is really doing.
Elon Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa, on June 28, 1971. He later immigrated to the United States. His father once described South Africa as follows: “No one talks about rules even among white people. It was all too common for two men to hold you down while another swung a wooden stick at your face. A polite glance at someone in a bar can get you beaten up enough to warrant a three-day stay in the ICU. If that slightest hint of disobedience shows in your gaze, it’s not a three-day stay, it’s a three-month stay.” Who would have thought that Musk, who has seen such scenes since childhood, could be so easily scared to pee?
I’ve always found Musk to be a very interesting character. “My eyes are net full of fools* and my men are full of losers!” Musk didn’t say this quote, but it’s certainly something he does with his actions. He also put the above quote in a different way in the company’s employee handbook: If you can’t take it, get out! And everyone in the company knows that if Musk asks you to do something and you raise such and such difficulty, then your job will be taken over immediately. And you will be kicked out the next second. That doesn’t seem like fun at all.
On Musk’s entrepreneurial resume is an ever-lengthening string of names: Zip2, X.com, Paypal, SpaceX, Tesla, SolarCity, Hyperloop, the OpenAI initiative …… In fact, more than the abuse Musk has received in the world, and the The fact is that compared to the smear and attack Musk has received in the world, the female owner of the car roof rights is just a small dish, not even on the stage.
And at the moment, more disruptive than Tesla, is Musk’s Starlink plan. This plan will build a “Starlink” network of about 12,000 satellites in space between 2019 and 2024, and provide high-speed Internet access from space to Earth. This is currently being achieved at a rate of 60 satellites per day and growing. What is this concept? Let’s look at it another way. Until now, there were only about 1,500 satellites over the entire planet ……
The Starlink project is a great experiment in terms of technology. It will also bring about a huge change in human society. But many countries in the world are opposing its arrival. Because, once the Starlink plan is completed, the Internet access service providers will have a bad time. Back then, I touched the Internet from dial-up. At that time, it was through telephone lines and “cats”. Speeds ranged from 64K, 128K, to 512K, followed by high-speed Internet lines, fiber optics, wireless Internet access. While the speed kept increasing, the problem of monopoly service of Internet access providers became increasingly apparent. In other words, the Internet can give you zero distance from the world, but someone can cut you off from the world at any time. When all of a person’s information is erased from the network, it is tantamount to a kind of Internet murder. At the same time, some technical means are being used to build the Berlin Wall in the Internet age. For example, if the American people want to read North Korea’s Internet information, they have to resort to some special technical means.
Internet access providers, on the other hand, are competing for the right to build the physical network to achieve control over the network. But in the U.S., it can seriously disrupt the normal flow of information because of the intricate property rights issues that exist with Internet access providers. During the 2020 U.S. election, for example, Amazon-owned access providers are putting their hands on network hardware to block information favorable to President Trump. And Musk’s Starlink plan is to bypass the U.S. access providers that are blocking the construction of base stations and fiber optics, using technology to dismantle traditional Internet barriers. If a ladder exists to punch a hole in the wall; Starlink is a direct razing of that wall.
So, Musk’s Starlink plan was never going to be smooth sailing. He has always been on the road full of questions, abuse and denigration. There are even foreign bricklayers who have declared with conviction that the Starlink project is bound to fail. Because what Musk is doing infringes on the common interests of “all mankind”. I have summarized their 5 main points.
Musk is launching illegally.
The sky is filled with satellites that make it impossible for aircraft to cross.
That scrapped satellites create space junk.
That being exposed to radiation emitted by countless satellites every day can make people sick.
Satellites loaded with laser weapons become weapons of space warfare.
All of the above, no matter which one of them is much more serious than the “brake door”. I’m not obligated to wash Musk’s name, let alone receive the dollars he sent me. I’m just talking about it from a popular science perspective.
First, in theory, anyone launching a satellite has to register with the United Nations’ International Telecommunication Union. Under the Radio Regulations, a satellite system that wishes to be internationally recognized and protected is registered with the Radiocommunication Branch of the ITU in accordance with the procedures set out in the Radio Regulations. After the formalities are completed, the satellite system is registered on the International Frequency Matrix. ITU member countries are obliged not to interfere with the satellites in the master list. Of course, military satellites of some countries often do not report. But there is no need for SpaceX to break these rules when launching civilian satellites. Otherwise, no one would want to deal with rule-breakers in the future. Plus the registration process is very easy. So, to say that the star chain is a violation of the launch is based on a pure conjecture.
And those who say that the sky is filled with satellites that will make it impossible for aircrafts to cross must have read too much science fiction. They probably haven’t figured out the volume relationship between a satellite of this size and the Earth. Of course, theoretically speaking, as long as there are enough satellites is also possible to cause the impact. But the premise is that humans need to arrange at least a few hundred Musk like star chain to do.
The idea of scrapped satellites turning into space junk is also derived from science fiction. Because Starlink satellites are low-orbiting satellites, orbiting altitude 335.9 to 1,325 km. The service life is about 5 years. At the end of its life, it will fall into the atmosphere and burn up on its own. Well, it will definitely cause some air pollution.
For those who think that satellites are radioactive, congratulations on your correct answer. But it is important to know that we ourselves are not exposed to all kinds of radiation all the time. The impact caused by satellites will be far less than that of sunlight. Also, as the frequency increases, the relative wavelength will gradually shorten. This means that in the propagation route as far as possible there can be no shade. This may cause you to open a reflective umbrella after the phone will have no signal.
As for the claim that Musk’s satellites are loaded with weapons, that’s typical conspiracy theory thinking. spaceX has half of the world’s current launch capacity, and there is no need to use Starlink satellites that are not specifically designed for military use. Its rockets can drop ASAT fragments into any orbit, or carry military satellites, space-based EMP weapon stations and the like. There’s no need to add so many bits and pieces to existing satellites.
The Starlink satellite that Musk developed is only a civilian communications satellite and is not unique in terms of technology. What he challenges is actually the logic of satellite applications. Before achieving rocket recovery and reuse, SpaceX was spending tens of millions of dollars per launch. After achieving rocket reusability two to three times, the average cost of a single launch can be expected to remain at about $6 million per launch. The Falcon rocket costs about $16 million to manufacture and the fuel cost is actually only about $200,000. In addition, satellite volume manufacturing can bring down costs. Most low-orbit satellites can already be made for a total mass of less than a thousand pounds at a single cost of less than a million dollars. This way of playing, in fact, and Tesla first build charging piles and then sell cars the same way. Before this, the world’s rocket launch is “used and discarded” type. The commercial launch companies were all very good. Developing recoverable rockets? Forget it, how much less money would it make?
This is basically the end of today’s article. As usual, I didn’t take the dollars Tesla gave me. If any of you find Musk to call me money, remember to remind me to collect. Here’s my point of view.
No matter who, want to get ahead first of all we must do a solid job in their own part. The bend is good, but also easy to roll over. I recognize and accept the brand premium, but also support giving more policy care for domestic brands. No one does not want Chinese companies to go global and become the industry leader. But the premise is to put respect for the intelligence of consumers in the first place. Making others stink does not mean that they are fragrant. Chinese companies should be a little less PR hype, a little more investment in scientific research. Think about it, how many originally good things have been ruined in the four words of speculation. The true spirit of competition is openness and tolerance, not water and electricity to play bogey and throw paint. Throughout the world’s successful people, none of them are heavy promise and keep their word. By virtue of good origins, just play smart and play PPT, beware of the market “kick ass”!
