The man was previously quarantined at a quarantine hotel in Perth, and after completing his 14-day quarantine visited several restaurants, a university, a public swimming pool, a doctor’s office and a friend’s home. Local media reported that the friend the man had visited also tested positive.
After nearly 400 days of border closures due to the outbreak, the two sides opened a quarantine-free travel bubble on the 18th of this month, eliminating the need for quarantine for travelers entering New Zealand and Australia.
