Xiaomi, OPPO, Tencent and other 5 App vendors were named by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to rectify

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced on its official microblog today (23) that Tencent App Store, Xiaomi App Store, OPPO Software Store, Huawei App Market and Vivo App Store were all named in the first quarterly inspection of applications (apps) that infringe on users’ rights and interests and were asked to rectify them.

Xinhua Finance reported that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said that 93 apps have not completed rectification in the investigation of recent mobile applications. In the inspection by Guangdong Communications Administration, 45 APPs did not complete the rectification.

Among them, in the 1st quarter of 2021 inspection, Tencent App Store, Xiaomi App Store, OPPO Software Store, Huawei App Market and Vivo App Store found that the number of problems accounted for 14.2%, 13.8%, 12.8%, 11.3% and 11.1% respectively, with strict shelf auditing, incomplete cleanup of stock problems, inaccurate registration verification of App developer and operator information, and The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China has urged the relevant authorities to take action.
