The Gateway Pundit reported Thursday, April 22, that Biden is promoting a battery energy company called Proterra in order to try to sell his infrastructure solutions to the United States. Would you be surprised to learn that Biden’s energy secretary, Jennifer Granholm, has $5 million invested in Proterra? It’s called crony capitalism.
The Washington Free Beacon reports that Biden’s virtual visit to electric battery maker Proterra followed a visit by Vice President Kamala Harris to Thomas Built Buses, a North Carolina-based school bus company, whose supplier of electric bus parts is Proterra. The back-to-back visits by Biden and his deputy to companies with ties to Granholm are at least potentially improper and show how lawmakers are using policy initiatives to line their own wallets.
Granholm has already played a leading role in the administration’s upcoming infrastructure package. Biden tasked her in February with “identifying risks in the high-capacity battery supply chain, including electric vehicle batteries, and policy recommendations to address those risks.
Biden’s infrastructure package includes investing $174 billion in the electric vehicle market, replacing “50,000 diesel buses” with electric vehicles, creating a “Clean Bus for Kids” program and “electrifying at least 20 percent of the yellow school bus fleet.
Isn’t this a conflict of interest, asks The Gateway Pundit? Will the liberal media cover this? Would they cover it if it were Trump? You know they would.
