According to sources, the European Union’s Executive Committee (EC) is preparing to sue British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca for reducing the number of vaccines delivered to the European Union for the 2019 Commonwealth of China virus disease (COVID-19).
AstraZeneca has repeatedly cut vaccine supplies, falling far short of previous commitments, and has therefore been criticized by the EU, which has previously discussed possible legal action.
According to the contract signed between Astellicom and the EU, Astellicom has committed to deliver 180 million doses of vaccines in the second quarter.
News outlet Politico, citing five unnamed EU diplomats, reported that at a meeting yesterday attended by ambassadors, most EU countries said they would support a lawsuit against Astellicom.
