Hackers directed by Chinese military launch massive cyber attack on Japan

In comprehensive news, just as Sino-Japanese relations are rising in conflict because of the Diaoyu Islands and other factors, the Japan Broadcasting Association (NHK) recently reported that the Chinese military directed a hacking team called Tick to launch a massive cyber attack on about two hundred research institutions and companies in Japan.

The report noted that Japanese police disclosed that the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) had been hacked in 2016 and that a Chinese systems engineer who was in Japan and a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) had rented a server in Japan to carry out the cyber attack.

In addition to this, a number of important companies and research institutions related to Japan’s defense have been subjected to similar cyber attacks.

There has been no official response from the Japanese government to this news.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin responded to this at a press conference on April 20, saying that China firmly opposes any country or institution using the issue of cyber attack to throw dirty water on China or using cyber security issues to serve despicable political purposes.
