Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis says the Chinese Communist Party should be held accountable for its cover-ups and malfeasance that led to the epidemic of the Communist virus. And the embargo that the Communist Party has pushed overseas has ruined countries’ economies.
“At the very least, I believe this is something that likely escaped from that lab. They knew about it. They covered it up. They didn’t say anything for a long time. They didn’t provide access.” A few days ago DeSantis told the English-language Epoch Times, “They knowingly made that decision. And I think that probably cost (them) a lot of lives in the process as well. So they should definitely be held accountable.”
DeSantis spoke about how Chinese Communist Party officials knew about the virus outbreak in Wuhan for at least six weeks before they warned the world about the Communist virus epidemic. “During that time, the regime not only arrested whistleblowers but censored online discussions about the outbreak. The CCP isolated Wuhan from the rest of China, but continued to allow international flights in and out of the major city.”
DeSantis accused the CCP of promoting its draconian blockade to other countries as an essential palliative measure, leading to the destruction of the economies of countries such as Italy. He also accused some senior U.S. health officials, including Anthony Fauci, of blindly adopting the Chinese Communist regime’s embargo model as well.
I think people like Fauci are relying on the Chinese Communist Party for something,” DeSantis said. And you can’t trust what the Chinese Communist Party gives out… …I think it would be a huge mistake to admit any validity to them in terms of what they’re doing.”
Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), has been a strong proponent of mass lockdowns, masks and social distancing measures as a way to contain the outbreak. He has largely ignored the thousands of medical and public health scientists who have evaluated the available data and concluded that lockdowns and other comprehensive restrictive and coercive epidemic prevention measures are futile.
Under Fauci’s leadership, NIAID spent massive amounts of U.S. taxpayer money to study bat coronaviruses in China, including controversial gain-of-function studies on how coronaviruses evolved the ability to jump from animals to humans. The Trump administration has since cut funding for these projects after news reports revealed that some of the researchers involved were associated with the Wuhan Virology Laboratory, which is located close to where the first cases of the CCP virus were reported.
It would be interesting to look up people like Fauci and their ties to the CCP,” DeSantis said, because …… In those early days, they didn’t even try to hold China accountable, they believed the CCP propaganda. And that obviously had negative consequences because I think it helped lead them to accept the blockade.”
Nearly 14,000 medical and public health scientists who oppose the embargo signed the Great Barrington Manifesto, which calls on elected leaders to focus mitigation measures on vulnerable populations while allowing the rest of society to continue living normal lives. DeSantis has taken this approach, and his state’s viral indicators are proving his decision to be a good one.
De Santis, a self-described “ham-fisted anti-communist” governor, believes that the Communist Party’s embargo measures are rooted in a conspiracy by the communist regime to allow other countries to harm their economies with ill-advised restrictions. In particular, he noted that the Italian government shut down the country to stop the spread of the disease, causing huge economic losses.
By adopting some of these policies, the West has done itself a great deal of harm,” DeSantis said. Instead of stopping the spread, these policies have proven to be very damaging to the economy.”
He added, “I do think there’s an information manipulation angle to this, and they really believe that if they can get these other countries to do a blockade. They would be willing to do some propaganda, especially in Europe, which would ultimately help China. And I think that has helped China.”
In a speech on September 22, 2020, Trump said, “The Chinese (Communist) government, as well as the World Health Organization – which is actually controlled by the Chinese (Communist) state – falsely claims that there is no evidence of human-to-human transmission …… Later, they falsely claimed that people with no symptoms could not transmit the disease.”
Trump also called on the UN at the time to hold the Chinese (communist) state accountable for its concealment of the outbreak, but neither Trump nor the UN has taken any public steps to punish the regime.
Last May, DeSantis denounced the Chinese Communist Party’s stockpiling of personal protective equipment, saying they were trying to “bring down the rest of the world.
