Recently, “The Way Back”, a feature film produced by New Century Pictures, was selected for the 54th Houston International Film Festival in the United States and is in the final stages of competition for the Raimi Award. The final winner of the festival will be announced at the online film festival event on April 25.

As the first feature film produced by New Century Films, “The Way Back” has been receiving awards from different film festivals around the world and has been appreciated by professionals from different cultural backgrounds since its release. The film’s protagonist’s search for meaning in life has resonated with many viewers. The entire film is bright, clean and pleasing to the eye. In line with its previous creative style, New Century strives to bring to the audience masterpieces that spread orthodox values and enlighten the soul.
The Houston International Film Festival is the oldest independent film festival in the world, and it is one of the three most selective film festivals in North America, along with the San Francisco Film Festival and the New York Film Festival.
Founded in 1961 by the Houston International Film Society, the festival was officially established in 1968 and is now in its 54th year of competition.
As a major cultural event in Houston in April, the Houston International Film Festival has always been known for its support of independent films, attracting thousands of submissions from filmmakers around the world each year.
The Houston International Film Festival is also the first festival to receive awards for the work of world-renowned directors such as Spielberg, George Lucas and Ang Lee – known as the “Birthplace of Star Directors”. Mainland Chinese filmmakers such as Lu Chuan, Zhou Xun and Yang Mi have all won awards at this festival. The festival’s screenings and awards will be held in August this year.

Another masterpiece “The Choice” premieres at the end of the month
At the end of this month, New Century will release another feature film, “The Choice,” which will run 1 hour and 20 minutes and star Zheng Xuefei and Li Yan in the lead roles.
The Choice tells the story of two generations, featuring the ups and downs of two veterans and their daughters, presenting some of the realities of Chinese society. The main characters had worked for the Communist Party, but ended up in a situation where their wives were separated and faced with forced demolition. In the midst of the ups and downs of their lives, they are faced with interests and conscience, looking for a way out in a desperate situation, how will they choose?

After “The Way Back”, New Century Pictures has released a number of short films such as “Accident”, “One in a Hundred”, “Fish in a Year”, “When the Phoenix Orchid Blossoms”, “Time of Crisis” and “Road Encounter”, which deliver positive messages and strengths in today’s chaotic and annoying information era.
