The U.S. website Hot Air reported Saturday, April 17, that the worst Republican predictions on energy came to pass on Friday, despite Interior Secretary Deb Haaland’s pledge to take a balanced approach to the issue during her confirmation hearings. Haaland rescinded a dozen energy policy orders set by the Trump administration, declaring that energy priorities would be to address climate change, that Trump’s order to promote fossil fuel development on public lands and waters was no longer in effect, and that public lands were shifting to green energy development.
Hot Air reports that during the Trump presidency, the United States has shifted from relying on foreign countries to meet its energy needs to becoming the dominant force in global energy production. U.S. refineries are in plentiful supply, natural gas prices have fallen for an extended period of time, clean-burning natural gas production has increased dramatically, homes are cheaper to heat, coal-fired power plants have switched to cheaper, cleaner natural gas burners, and coal production has declined dramatically. It’s one of the Trump administration’s signature accomplishments.
Friday’s announcement, however, pretty much heralded the end of it all. Not only are Democrats talking about jacking up state gas taxes so that gas will get more expensive; but people working on pipeline projects, or in industries that support such construction, may have to learn to write code or something else. Permits to drill on public lands and offshore deposits will soon become, well, rarer than honest politicians.
The Gateway Pundit says that Biden didn’t promise this kind of energy policy when he canvassed for the presidency, and that Biden blatantly lied on the campaign trail about his future energy policy plans! Now Biden’s new top leader on climate change is also not allowing the U.S. to be able to maintain previous levels of energy production.
Previously, gasoline prices have risen by a dollar a gallon as a result of Biden’s actions to block pipelines and curtail production; measures introduced Friday by Biden’s energy secretary would have raised gas prices and heating costs, making the U.S. sub-dependent on Middle East oil.
The Gateway Pundit believes that nothing Biden has done since the inauguration is what any normal American would want. This is definitely a hostile takeover of the United States.
