Border Patrol agents in Del Rio, Texas, found a trailer full of undocumented immigrants late in the evening on the 12th. Surprisingly, the small space underneath the vehicle was filled with 18 adults, and two teenagers, ages 10 and 15, were stuffed into the space on the side of the vehicle.
Captain Austin Skero posted photos on Twitter and stressed that with the increasingly hot weather, this kind of smuggling behavior is simply a game of life.
On that day, first the police dog first found the trailer had a strange appearance, the patrol officers only to go up to stop and check, after a lot of effort, only to find the immigrants hidden by tarps and bags in the bottom of the car.
Because the space is so narrow, the adults are almost one on top of the other in order to squeeze in, and must put their hands against their bodies in order to allow others to squeeze into the space less than 18 inches deep together. It remains unclear where the group came from.
Fox News reports that the federal government is desperately trying to address the growing number of undocumented immigrants, including housing them in many temporary shelters, but according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP), there were 18,890 children who came to the U.S. alone in March, twice as many as the 9,297 who came in February.
Smugglers make strange moves, but are still detected by border guards. (Border Patrol)
