On Wednesday, April 14, Florida U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) said that “Trump (Trump) is the most popular and influential Republican in America” and that if he runs for president again in 2024, no one in the Republican Party will be able to defeat him.

In an interview with Newsmax TV, Rubio said, “If he (Trump) decides to run for president and the nomination, he will be the party’s nominee. That’s the way I see it. He hasn’t made a decision yet. It’s a long road (for Trump), and if he decides to run again in 2024, he will be the Republican nominee for president, and I think almost everybody I’ve talked to would agree with that.”

Rubio is not the first person to express approval of Trump as the Republican presidential nominee. Nikki Haley, a Republican who served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, also said this week that she would not run against Trump and would support him for president if he were to run.

Rubio ran against Trump for the Republican presidential nomination in the 2016 Republican primary. Although once rivals, they now respect each other. Rubio has Trump’s backing as he prepares to run for re-election to the Senate next year. Rubio had told Haley that Trump’s name carried a lot of weight in Florida and that there were many voters who supported Trump. And Trump, who has long lived in New York, has moved to Florida in recent years to call his Sea Lake estate home.

“We’ve worked very well with President Trump and the White House,” Rubio said, “We’ve done a lot of positive, constructive things together, had a very meaningful time, and built a great working relationship.” “Also, (I’m running for re-election) it’s one of those things that we’ve been unspoken about, and I’ve gotten his special support. Because he is now a Florida resident and voter, I need not only his support, but his vote, and the votes of everyone in his family. His family will also be moving to Florida.”

Earlier, Trump’s senior adviser Jason Miller told Newsmax TV that whether Trump runs for president again hinges on whether Republicans can win back the House and Senate in 2022.

Trump has vowed to help Republicans win the 2022 midterm elections. At an elite Republican convention on Saturday, April 10, Trump told hundreds of major donors, “The key to future victories is this: we’ve accomplished amazing things over the last four years, building on what we’ve accomplished.” “Under our leadership, the Republican coalition has won thousands of new voters. We have turned the Republican Party into a party that truly fights for all Americans.”

“I stand before you tonight with the confidence that in 2022, we will take back (the House), we will take back the Senate. And then in 2024, the Republican candidate will win the White House,” Trump said.

Trump has spent the months since leaving the White House considering the 2022 Republican candidates’ request for his endorsement and deciding whether to give them an endorsement based on whether they support him and agree with his agenda.

Trump said the Constitution gives him the right to seek another four-year term. However, any question about whether Big is involved in the 2024 election should wait until after the midterm elections in November 2022.
