Online education company New Oriental Online has made concentrated layoffs over the past month, involving lead teachers, teaching coaches, operations and many other positions in its primary and secondary school large classroom business, according to LatePost. Layoff targets vary by department, with about 20 percent of lead teachers in the middle school division already leaving.
New Oriental Online CEO Sun Dongxu recently said internally that he moved from offline business to online, paid a very expensive tuition fee, but also learned a lot, the next company to control costs and maintain the state of the startup, “to work hard to fight.”
