Come to sing the white face again? Li Keqiang: China and the United States decoupling is not good for anyone

The U.S.-China relationship is tense, and the U.S.-China high-level meeting in Alaska in March, the Chinese side is prepared to exercise “war wolf diplomacy” since, adding fuel to the fire of the two countries’ tension. However, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang once again “sang a white face”, saying that the U.S. and China “cooperation is mutually beneficial, the fight is hurt”, stressing that the U.S. and China decoupling is not beneficial to anyone.

Li Keqiang attended a video dialogue with U.S. business leaders in Zhongnanhai’s Ziguang Pavilion on April 13, where he addressed the chairmen and CEOs of more than 20 leading U.S. multinational companies, saying that as the world’s largest developing country and the world’s largest developed country, “cooperation is mutually beneficial, but fighting is mutually harmful,” according to the Chinese government website sponsored by the State Council, which he heads. He stressed that the essence of economic and trade relations between the two countries is “mutual benefit and win-win”. He also mentioned in particular that a decoupling between China and the United States would not benefit anyone and would hurt the world. I hope both sides will move in the same direction.

Li also stressed that China will continue to open up to the outside world and make China an important destination for foreign investment and a big market for the world.

It is worth noting that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who was in Alaska last month to scold the U.S. side, was also present at the event.

This is the second time in recent memory that Li Keqiang has sung a white face. At the end of last month, while the Chinese official media was boycotting foreign goods, Li visited Jiangsu province, where foreign companies are concentrated, and visited a Sino-German joint venture chemical plant that supplies chemical raw materials to Nike, Adidas and other brands, to encourage companies to invest more in China.
