Liaoning Shenyang now wild birds H5N6 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza

While the Communist pneumonia epidemic and African swine fever are still ongoing on the mainland, an outbreak of wild bird H5N6 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza has occurred in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. Since November last year, several provinces and cities on the mainland have seen avian influenza, mostly H5N8 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza.

According to the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the Communist Party of China on April 12, according to the press office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on the same day, a wild bird H5N6 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak occurred in Changbai Island Forest Park, Changbai Street, Heping District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. The briefing did not specify what kind of wild birds.

There were 291 wild birds in the outbreak, 11 died of disease and another 280 were culled.

From November last year to the present, avian influenza has continued to appear in many places on the mainland.

On February 5 this year, an outbreak of wild birds H5N8 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza was announced in the scenic area of Yuntai Mountain in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province. The outbreak site was inhabited by about 647 wild birds, with 17 illnesses and 17 deaths.

On February 1, an outbreak of wild swan H5N8 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza occurred in Yuanmingyuan Ruins Park in Haidian District, Beijing. The epidemic site was inhabited by 15 wild birds, with 3 illnesses and 3 deaths.

On January 19, an outbreak of wild swan H5N8 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza occurred in the management station of Dawenliu, Yellow River Delta Nature Reserve, Dongying City, Shandong Province. The epidemic site was inhabited by 249 wild birds, with 35 illnesses and 35 deaths.

On November 26, 2020, an outbreak of wild swan H5N8 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza occurred in the Dawenliu Scenic Area in Sanwan, Pinglu County, Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province. The area was inhabited by more than 4,000 wild swans, with 2 onset and 2 deaths.
