Recently, I went to the theater with my children to see Ne Zha: The Reincarnation of the Demon Child. The story is smooth, the language is humorous, the emotions are well rendered, and the animation is stunning. In retrospect, although the main audience of this animated film is children, it is also an animated film worth watching for parents.
In the movie, Lady Yin plays shuttlecock with her son even though she has to wear armor, and the father, Li Jing, although apparently strict, sacrifices himself to save Nazha’s life. The parents’ selfless tolerance and love for their children is evident. Because of his parents’ tolerance and understanding, Nazha finally understands the good intentions of his parents, tears down the peace charm given to him by his father, and bravely fights against fate, moving from being a mischievous child to a “righteous” one.
In my opinion, the tolerance of Li Jing and his wife in the movie is something parents should learn from. Although tolerance is a well-known way of treating people, many parents are not tolerant to their children. I have seen some mothers hit their children in the face in the street and some walk behind their children and curse them.
Tolerance is actually based on the parents’ deep understanding of their children, and it is because of the parents’ tolerance that the children change. Parental forgiveness can give the child time to reflect on himself or herself. The child will have a deeper understanding of many truths.
The parent’s style of behavior will also have a subtle influence on the child. Forgiving parents, children will also have an open mind and a longer-term perspective, and will learn to treat others with generosity. Therefore, tolerance reflects the wisdom of education.
Another “child,” Ao Bing, is the reincarnation of the “Spiritual Pearl,” and his father, the Dragon King, has high hopes for him. When the Dragon King and all the dragons in the clan pulled off their scales and made armor for Ao Bing, Ao Bing was under great pressure inside. But he was actually very conflicted about what he was about to do. Flooding Chen Tang Pass was also a necessity. But fortunately, he made the right choice at the last moment, which shows that good and evil are just a thought.
The Dragon King represents a type of parent who does not nurture their children from their own characteristics, but only wants them to make up for their own regrets. They put their children under undue pressure. As a result, the child’s original nature is not well developed and he or she chooses a path that is not suitable for him or her, which delays the child’s life.
The parents, Li Jing and his wife and the Dragon King, illustrate the importance of proper guidance for children in family education.
If we say that family relationship is the emotional scene that the movie focuses on, then “I don’t care about my fate” is the sublimation of the story of the movie.
This is a famous saying we have all heard before. The repeated emphasis of this truth in the movie is not only an inspiration to the audience, but also a life truth that we all need to put into practice with our actions.
There are many obstacles on the road to success, including the influence of our family of origin. In the movie, Ao Bing is encouraged by his “friend” Nazha to make the right choice, which is also overcoming difficulties. Therefore, in order to succeed, we need to have a clear understanding of ourselves and make the right decisions.
A good movie has many points worth evaluating, although I have read some of the reviews, which are mixed and polarized, but I think this movie brings the domestic animation movie to a new height, no matter from the storyline, language, character portrayal, theme, all aspects are highly accomplished. Especially the animation effects are excellent. The images are also colorful and very detailed.
We don’t have to blindly compare with foreign animation, as long as we use our own cultural resources and reflect our own characteristics, Chinese animation can also walk its own way!
