Senator Cruz: Biden Ignored Law to Pay Palestine, Fund Killing of Americans

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), appearing on SiriusXM’s Sunday Breitbart News on Sunday, said the Biden administration’s decision to provide hundreds of millions of dollars to Palestinians amounts to paying bounties to terrorists who kill Americans and Israelis.

Despite the fact that in 2018 Trump signed the Taylor Force Act, which prevents the use of U.S. taxpayer funds to support the Palestinian Authority (PA) because the Palestinian Authority pays stipends and pensions to terrorists and their families who kill Americans; the White House announced last Wednesday that it was providing $250 million in aid to the Palestinian Authority .

Cruz explained, “Tyler Foss, a U.S. Army veteran from Texas who was murdered in Tel Aviv, was one of 11 people assassinated by terrorists in 2016. The Palestinian Authority makes annual payments to the terrorists’ families. The family of the terrorist who killed Tyler Foss receives $25,000 in support, which is essentially a bounty for terrorist activity. The Taylor-Foss Act means that we will not send American taxpayer money for Palestine to fund terrorists killing Americans.”

Cruz said, “Just a few months into the Biden administration, it has already demonstrated the pattern of eight years of the Obama administration, which is to support our enemies, fund our enemies, fund people who try to kill Americans and encourage terrorists to kill Americans. “

Cruz added, “Obama is the most anti-Israel president ever, and I fear that Biden will break that record on the Palestinian issue. The United States has given more than $6.3 billion to the Palestinian Authority, which is one with Hamas, the terrorist organization that murders Americans and Israelis, and has had a policy for years called the pay to kill policy. When terrorists kill, the Palestinian government makes permanent payments to their families.”

According to a 2011 report by the Congressional Research Service (CRS) agency, “Palestinians …… are among the largest per capita recipients of foreign aid in the world.”

Cruz said, “The Biden administration has announced that it has given at least $130 million to the Palestinian Authority. They did it surreptitiously behind the scenes and without public discussion. They were required to give statutory notice to Congress, which they did, but without any explanation other than saying nonsense like ‘we want peace. You know, paying people who fund terrorists is not the way to get peace.”

On Thursday, in response to the Biden administration’s violations of the Tyler Foss Act, Cruz sent a letter to Secretary of State Ambrinken, which was co-signed by 17 other Republican senators.

Cruz concluded, “The Biden administration has shown too much will to completely ignore the law.”
