Apple’s new iPad Pro display production is rumored to have hit a snag in the initial supply facing a shortage

Apple Inc. is facing production problems with the display of its high-end iPad Pro, which could lead to an initial supply shortage for the new device, foreign media said, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The report said Apple plans to showcase a new MiniLED display technology in the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, to be announced as early as the second half of April. But people familiar with the matter said the company’s overseas suppliers are dealing with poor yields, and at least one MiniLED manufacturer has recently been forced to suspend production.

In addition, people familiar with the matter said Apple still intends to announce two sizes of the updated iPad Pro tablet this month. miniLED screen will improve contrast and provide a brighter image, exclusive for the 12.9-inch model. The production halt may mean that the larger iPad Pro will be shipped later and will be available in limited numbers initially.
