Californians rally to call on Biden administration to close border to illegal immigrants

On April 10, Southern California residents rallied in Park City, Orange County to demand that the Biden administration close the border to illegal immigrants; there was also a petition drive. People held signs such as “Close the Border” and “Save America” and shouted “Close the Border!” to passersby and vehicles.

The Growing Border Crisis

In March, U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in a statement, “We are experiencing more illegal entries at the Southwest border than we have in the past 20 years, and the pace of growth is accelerating.”

A petition to Vice President Kamala Harris reads, “America is a welcoming country to legal immigrants, and we demand that the border be closed to illegal immigrants. The crisis at the southern border is a result of the Biden/Her own administration, and illegal immigrants (including terrorists) are entering the United States.

From his first day in office to April 1, Biden issued nine immigration orders and two action orders that changed the policies of the previous administration, including halting the construction of the border wall, allowing passport holders from seven Muslim countries to enter the country, revoking the Trump administration’s orders for immigration enforcement within the United States, providing protections for asylum seekers, and allowing Central American asylum seekers to enter the United States, among others.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), 100,000 people attempted to cross the border in February, nearly 30,000 of whom were unaccompanied minors between the ages of 13 and 17; this rose to 172,000 in March; and approximately 383,000 have attempted to cross the border in the past five months.

In Texas, the youngest of the more than 1,000 children and underage youths crossing the border taken in by Border Patrol was 4 years old.

In addition, Biden’s policy has led many people, including criminal organizations, to believe that there is a great opportunity for illegal immigrants to find better paying jobs in the U.S. or to stay in the U.S. for a better life; some parents are paying large criminal organizations like Cartel, who use mobile vehicles to smuggle people, in order for their children to become naturalized in the U.S. use mobile vehicles to smuggle people.

Nancy Hathcock, president of the West Orange County Federation of Republican Women, argues, “We should also close the border for humanitarian reasons; and smuggling is bringing drugs, sex trafficking and terrorism.”

Smuggling of drugs at the border also reportedly rose 50 percent in February from January, with the largest amount being fentanyl (Fentanyl). Once in the U.S., illegal immigrants leave border cities and migrate to other U.S. cities, making this more than a border crisis.

Preparing for the future of the ballot box?

Since the San Diego Convention Center began accepting unaccompanied minors (with a capacity of 1,450), the Long Beach (L.A.) City Council agreed 7-0 on April 6 to accept unaccompanied minors between the ages of 13 and 17 who cross the border at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. The center’s large outdoor parking lot and terrace theater are currently serving as vaccination sites.

Looking across the street at the circular convention center, resident Fred said, “The city is happy to do this and the federal government will give the city money, but in the end it’s the American taxpayer’s money that’s going to be spent.” The Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center can accommodate 1,000 minors who need to be placed in foster homes by Aug. 2.

Earlier, L.A. County Board of Supervisors Chairman Hilda L. Solis also announced that the Pomona Fairplex will serve as an emergency shelter for unaccompanied minors and can accommodate 2,500.

The EU’s refugee policy has caused a serious political, social and economic crisis in Europe, so will the Biden administration’s immigration policy cause a crisis in the United States?

I want those elected representatives to close the borders, and we are taking every opportunity now to speak out and let leaders know that we will not tolerate them,” said resident Bill (R-Texas). We must also change the way elections are conducted and voting should take place on election day instead of election week or within a month.”

“By letting minors come in illegally you are preparing their (Democratic) ballot box,” said resident Ally. She said she waited five years to get her citizenship in the first place and needed to be sponsored, some waited longer, and now Biden’s policy undermines immigration laws.

Hathcock sees many crises facing the United States, such as the education issue. She recalls the first time she was a registered Democrat running for office: “You know, teachers’ views can very much influence young people. Then she saw what certain Democrats were doing before she switched to registering as a Republican. The education in schools makes young people lean to the left, like identifying with socialism, and then these (Vietnamese-born) underage children are easily influenced by their foster families and schools.”

A group of Vietnamese-American elders, including Ms. Nguyen, fled Viet Cong rule in the 1980s and came to the U.S. after much hardship to start a business from scratch. She said, “We know too well about socialism and the dangers of it. People are deprived of their freedom, property and lives, but children grow up in the U.S. and are brainwashed by American schooling and leftist media.”

Some young people who hold traditional views are also in a difficult position in school, and when Sophia speaks her mind in class, her classmates say, “Don’t talk to her.” And as a result, some young people choose not to take a stand or don’t care about it.
