A Florida woman who calls herself “Harry Potter” drove her car into a sidewalk, killing New York District Judge Sandra Feuerstein and seriously injuring a six-year-old boy, whose condition was still unknown as of the 11th. The driver was arrested by police after the hit-and-run accident.
The woman involved in the accident was 23-year-old Nastasia Feuerstein. According to court records, witnesses told police that Snape was driving erratically, impeding traffic, and drove onto the sidewalk and hit Feuerstein, then backed into the lane and hit the boy in the zebra crossing.
Police said Snape then fled to neighboring Della Beach, where a police officer said she appeared to be convulsing, but was able to get out of the car on her own. The drug can cause mental problems, and as of 11 Snape is still in jail.
The judge who was killed had served in the Eastern District of New York since 2003 and was appointed to the federal bench by former President George W. Bush after 16 years as a New York state judge.
Feuerstein was in charge of the case of former New York City police officer Valerie Cincinelli, who was accused of paying her boyfriend to kill her husband. According to media reports, Cincinelli was expected to plead guilty this week, and it is uncertain whether Feuerstein’s death will have any impact on the case.
Fierstein’s colleague Glick (Joshua Glick) said: “She believed that the judge’s role was to interpret the law rather than create it, and she focused on writing down concise and easily understood ideas, and sometimes if she felt that litigants were not being completely honest with her, she would be tough on them, but she was always fair. “
