As the Chinese Communist Party increasingly threatens U.S. allies in the South China Sea, Washington has stepped up its tough stance against the Communist Party, in addition to conducting frequent military exercises with allies recently. In an interview with U.S. media Sunday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken launched a series of attacks on the Chinese Communist Party over the epidemic, the situation in the Taiwan Strait and human rights in Xinjiang.
Blinken emphasized that the crime of “genocide” is the “correct description” of the Chinese government’s actions.
Blinken urges global “concrete action” against CCP genocide
In an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, Blinken harshly condemned the Chinese Communist Party’s genocide of the Uighurs in Xinjiang, saying the United States “strongly opposes” the Communist Party’s The U.S. is “firmly opposed” to the “egregious” human rights abuses and urged U.S. companies to ensure they do not do business in the region.
During his Senate confirmation hearing in January, Blinken said he agreed with the Trump administration’s characterization of the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of the Uighurs as “genocide,” which was also his judgment. During Sunday’s interview, NBC host Chuck Todd mentioned Blinken’s agreement with the Chinese Communist Party’s “genocide” conviction. In response, Blinken said, “When we look at the behavior of the authorities in Beijing, including the actions taken against the Uighurs and in the Xinjiang region, yes, I think that’s the right description.” He was referring to the characterization of the Chinese Communist Party’s actions as “genocide.
Blinken called on governments around the world, including the United States, to take “concrete action” to ensure that no company provides products or services to the Chinese Communist Party that would help it suppress its people.
“We need to do something: we need to be able to bring the globe together and speak out against what has happened and what continues to happen; indeed, we need to take concrete action to make sure, for example, (that) none of our companies provide anything (products or services) to China (the Chinese Communist Party) that can be used to suppress the Chinese people, including the Uighurs. We need to look at products that are made in that part of China to make sure they don’t come from there.”
Blinken added that the United States must also ensure that it identifies the best ways to effectively advance its interests and values. He also mentioned that while the U.S. strongly opposes the CCP’s egregious human rights abuses and genocide, it does not rule out cooperation in areas where it can.
Blinken sternly warned the Chinese Communist Party not to use force against Taiwan
Blinken said the United States has seen increasingly aggressive actions by the Chinese Communist Party against Taiwan that have increased tensions in the (Taiwan) Strait. He said the United States has serious commitments to ensuring that Taiwan is capable of defending itself, and the United States will stand by those commitments. Under these circumstances, “anyone who tries to change the current status quo by force would be making a grave mistake.”
Blinken: Chinese Communist Party Conceals Epidemic, Causing Virus to Accelerate Out of Control
In addition to the Xinjiang issue, Blinken condemned the Chinese Communist Party’s handling of the epidemic. He said that the Communist Party did not do what needed to be done in the early stages of the outbreak, which was to “give access to international experts in real time, share information in real time, and provide real transparency in real time. One consequence of this was that the virus got out of control “much faster” and the results were much worse.
He added that the U.S. must ensure that the origin of the virus is determined and that the truth is found. So that we know exactly what happened and have a better chance of preventing it from happening again.
On the distribution of the vaccine, Blinken said, “I think we have a great responsibility to be the world leader in helping to ensure that the world gets vaccinated.”
Blinken added that the United States is the largest global contributor to COVAX, making the vaccine more accessible, “especially to low- and middle-income countries. We have a very important arrangement with India, Japan and Australia to increase global vaccine production.”
Blinken was referring to the March 12 video summit between the heads of the United States, Japan, Australia and India, where the four countries agreed to a division of labor on financing, manufacturing and vaccine distribution in the face of the growing threat of “vaccine diplomacy” by the Chinese Communist Party, with plans to send one billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Asia by the end of 2022 The four countries’ division of labor is
The division of labor among the four countries is that India will use its production capacity to manufacture the U.S. vaccine, with funding from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (U.S. International Development Finance Corporation) and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation). Australia will fund the training and provide logistical support for the distribution of the vaccine. The vaccines will go primarily to the Pacific Islands, Southeast Asia and Indian Ocean countries.
During his visit to Japan on March 17, Blinken denounced China (the Chinese Communist Party) for so-called “vaccine diplomacy” during an online roundtable held by Japanese media. “We should not link the distribution of or access to vaccines to politics or geopolitics,” he said. He said.
Blinken added that the policy comes with “strings attached, with certain requirements, perhaps stronger requirements for other countries to receive the vaccine.
