NASA explains the “rainbow” on Mars

NASA has released an image taken by the Trail rover, which shows a “rainbow”.

The image has sparked many hypotheses on the Internet about the origin of this “Earth” phenomenon, and NASA has decided to explain the situation. NASA staff tweeted.

“Many people ask: Is this a rainbow on Mars? No, it could not have appeared here. Rainbows are formed by light being reflected within water droplets. However there is not enough water here to condense and it is too cold to have liquid water. The arc is a halo of light from the lens.”
