American author John Naisbitt, known as the master of contemporary trends, died peacefully at his second home near Lake Woerthersee, Austria, on the 8th, at the age of 92, his wife Dorothy said today.
The Austrian Press Agency (APA) had earlier reported Nesbit’s death.
Nesbit’s 1982 bestseller Megatrends, which spent two years on the New York Times bestseller list and was No. 1 for most of that time, was published in 57 countries and sold more than 14 million copies.
Born on January 15, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in Glenwood, Nesbitt spent the early part of his career as an executive at Kodak and IBM before being appointed by then President John F. Kennedy at the age of 34 as Assistant He was appointed Assistant Commissioner of Education by then President John F. Kennedy at the age of 34.
Nesbitt is the author of numerous books, including “Megatrends 2000,” “Global Paradox,” “Megatrends Asia,” and “Megatrends 2000. “(Megatrends Asia), and others, have also attracted great reactions.
Naisbitt has also published a number of China-related books and founded the Naisbitt China Institute, which studies China’s social, cultural and economic transformation. In 2009, Naisbitt published “China’s Megatrends,” a book analyzing the rise of China.

After his wife Doris Naisbitt became his German-language publisher, they married in 2000. In addition to his wife, Naisbitt leaves behind five children and 12 grandchildren.
