As the U.S. and Iran stalemate over the terms of a return to the nuclear deal, the Tehran government announced on Saturday (10) that it had commissioned advanced uranium enrichment centrifuges, representing another breach of nuclear deal commitments. But the nuclear facilities failed on the same day, the Israeli media said the country’s agents, Iran was forced to stop refining enriched uranium.
In a ceremony broadcast by Iranian state-run television, President Rouhani activated 164 IR-6 and 30 IR-5 tandem centrifuges at the Natanz uranium enrichment plant, but no footage of the centrifuges was shown, only a link to engineers at the plant. The engineers said they had introduced uranium hexafluoride gas into the tandem centrifuges after receiving Rouhani’s order.
But a few hours later, the above-mentioned electrical failure, state-run television and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran afterwards claimed that this is an accident, did not cause casualties or radiation leakage, the authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. Israeli media on Sunday (11), citing Western intelligence sources, said that the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad orchestrated the incident, so that the Natanz nuclear facility “seriously damaged”, hitting the core of Iran’s uranium enrichment, related work was forced to stop until further notice.
In addition, Israeli Defense Minister Gantz met with visiting U.S. Defense Secretary Austin on Sunday, saying that Israel is cooperating with the U.S. on the Iranian nuclear issue and hopes that Washington must guarantee Israel’s security when reaching any new nuclear deal.
