Trump endorses Senator Paul for re-election, calls him a “true warrior”

In a statement, Trump said, “Rand Paul does terrific work for our country and for the very good people of Kentucky. He fights the Washington bureaucracy, radical left-wing liberals, and especially the many harmful ‘Republicans in Name Only’ (RINOs) in Congress.”

Trump also said Paul will continue to support an “America First” policy, embrace unnecessary spending cuts, defend America’s Second Amendment rights and “take care of our troops and our veterans.

Trump added that he is proud to work with Paul in the fight to make America great again. “I support his re-election to the U.S. Senate without reservation,” Trump said, adding, “Kentucky has a true warrior – Rand Paul.”

Trump and Paul were reportedly political rivals. in 2016, they were both candidates for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination, when they clashed several times. But Paul has since become one of Trump’s allies.

In a speech at the Republican National Convention last August, Paul praised Trump’s action to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan and said he was “proud” of the Trump administration’s accomplishments. He said, “Joe Biden will keep us bleeding and squandering our wealth, while President Trump will bring our heroes home.”

After attending the Republican convention, Paul was reportedly mobbed and attacked by a group of people. He tweeted, “I was just attacked by a mob of over 100 people a block from the White House. Thank you DC police for saving our (his and his wife’s) lives from these crazy thugs.”

Earlier this year, the Democratic Party initiated a second impeachment of Trump, who had left the White House, and Paul submitted a bill under pressure stating that it would be unconstitutional to impeach the former president. in January 2021, 45 of the 50 Republican members of the Senate voted in favor of Paul’s bill. in February, the U.S. Senate voted to acquit President Trump of all charges.
