Starting from 11 New York City bridge and tunnel tolls officially increased

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) reminds that the toll increase policy for several bridges and tunnels in New York City went into effect on Sunday the 11th.

According to the MTA announcement, starting April 11, vehicles using E-ZPass will be able to cross the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, the Hugh L. Carey Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, the Queens Midtown Tunnel, the RFK Bridge (Robert F. Kennedy Bridge), the Throgs Neck Bridge, and the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, the one-way toll increases from $6.12 to $6.55; for For vehicles not using E-ZPass (road cameras take a picture of the vehicle’s license plate and send the bill to the owner), the one-way toll will increase from $9.50 to $10.17.

As a reminder, vehicles that do not have E-ZPass properly installed will be charged $8.36 for a one-way pass because the MTA is adding a fee to verify the vehicle’s registration status.

In addition, Staten Island residents driving across the Verrazano Bridge will still enjoy a $2.75 one-way crossing fee, thanks to the efforts of several elected officials.

The toll for crossing the Henry Hudson Bridge in the Bronx is $3 for E-ZPass users, $7.50 for non-E-ZPass users, and $4.62 for those who do not have an E-ZPass device properly installed.

Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge and Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge in Queens are $2.45 for E-ZPass users, $7.50 for non-E-ZPass users, and $4.62 for those without properly installed E-ZPass devices.
