A doctor at a tertiary hospital in Shanxi province exposed himself to 500,000 yuan (RMB) in kickbacks and said he was willing to be thoroughly investigated. The hospital said the doctor had a “paranoid personality”. The incident triggered a public debate, many netizens sarcastically, to say the truth is “bigoted personality” it?
On April 9, a selfie video went viral on social media platforms. The video content shows that a self-proclaimed professional physician of “the largest tertiary hospital” in Datong, Shanxi Province, exposed himself as a doctor for more than ten years, when during this period, involved in receiving medical kickbacks, conservatively estimated at more than 500,000.
In the video, he pleaded to be thoroughly investigated and hoped he could change his ways. He said, “In the future, if I have the opportunity to continue practicing medicine, I hope to be clean, clean practice, stay away from kickbacks and refuse red packets. Thank you for your support!”
The man had previously posted videos through social media platforms several times, exposing himself to kickbacks.
In response, a land media called the hospital to ask about the situation. The hospital publicity department a minister surnamed Lin replied that “this matter has been tossed for several years”, the doctor “more radical”, the discipline inspection committee has intervened, the local public security also detained him.

Back in 2019, a doctor at Wanning City, Hainan Province’s Hele Central Health Center, also reported that he had taken kickbacks for prescribing drugs. The doctor said, “The reason I reported this matter was to purify the environment of the health center’s medical practice.”
He disclosed that some outpatient doctors with a large business volume, if a month to see the amount of 100,000 yuan of drugs prescribed, you can get 15,000 yuan of drug rebates, “many doctors in the hospital do this,” but the hospital management turned a blind eye to this situation, and even participate in it.
