The $10 billion BeiDou navigation system is one of the few high technologies that the Communist Party of China can show off, but many truck drivers are now responding that the system’s failure rate is too high. What is the problem? What are the prospects for military use? See the experts’ analysis.
Does the Biden administration really dare to get tough with the Chinese Communist Party? On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Commerce sanctioned seven Chinese companies and institutions that helped the Communist military build supercomputers. On Wednesday, in response to the presence of Chinese military aircraft in the Taiwan Strait for several days, a U.S. Department of State spokesman said that its commitment to Taiwan is “rock solid.

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security made its final decision Thursday to add the following Chinese companies to the sanctions list.
Tianjin Phytium Information Technology (TPTIT).
Shanghai Integrated Circuit Technology and Industry Promotion Center (Shanghai High-Performance Integrated Circuit Design Center).
Shenzhen Sunway Microelectronics Company Limited (Sunway Microelectronics).
The National Supercomputing Center Shenzhen (the National Supercomputing Center Shenzhen).
The National Supercomputing Center Jinan (the National Supercomputing Center Jinan).
The National Supercomputing Center Wuxi (the National Supercomputing Center Wuxi).
The National Supercomputing Center Zhengzhou (the National Supercomputing Center Zhengzhou).
These entities are involved in the manufacture of supercomputers used by Communist Party military units, in projects to modernize the Communist Party’s military and in weapons of mass destruction programs, the Commerce Department press release said.
Companies on the sanctions list that want to purchase banned goods from U.S. suppliers must submit license applications to the U.S. Commerce Department for rigorous review.
The U.S. Commerce Department’s decision is effective immediately from the date of publication, Reuters said. But banned goods that have already completed the procurement process and are in the delivery stage will not be affected by this decision. The previous U.S. administration had already put dozens of Chinese companies on the list of entities, with Huawei and SMIC among them.
U.S. Says Commitment to Taiwan “Rock Solid” in Response to Communist Party’s Military Aircraft in Taiwan Sea and Airspace for Days
The United States on Wednesday (April 7) responded to recent Chinese military activity in the Taiwan Strait, saying it was “extremely concerned” that the Communist Party was conducting “threatening behavior” in the area. At a regular briefing, State Department spokesman Price reiterated that the U.S. commitment to Taiwan is “rock solid.
Price noted, “We are aware of and concerned about China’s ongoing threatening behavior in the region in recent days.” Price added, “Under the Taiwan Relations Act, the United States should maintain the strength to resist any resort to force or other forms of coercion that would endanger the security of the people or the social or economic systems of Taiwan.”

Tech Guru Opens Fire: Communist China Is Using Bitcoin Against U.S., Apple Most Pro-Communist Should Be Censored
PayPal co-founder Thiel said Tuesday (April 6) in comments at an online forum hosted by the Richard Nixon Foundation, a California-based think tank, that bitcoin “is a threat to fiat currencies, particularly the U.S. dollar. “

In a tweet, the Nixon Foundation quoted Thiel as saying, “While I am one of the biggest proponents of cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, I do wonder if, at this point, Bitcoin should also be seen in part as a financial weapon of the Chinese Communist Party against the United States.”
Thiel said the CCP would like to see two global reserve currencies, not just the U.S. dollar as the default reserve currency. But the Chinese Communist Party doesn’t want the yuan to play that role and has used the euro “partially” as a weapon against the dollar in the past. He believes that didn’t “work,” so now the Chinese Communist Party is trying to boost bitcoin.”
Also attending the forum were former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and former White House National Security Adviser John O’Brien.
Geopolitically, the U.S. would have to come up with contingency measures if the Chinese Communist Party were to take a big hand in bitcoin, and because bitcoin is threatening fiat currencies like the U.S. dollar, Thiel suggested that the U.S. government would have to come up with stricter controls on the virtual currency.
It’s worth noting that the “father of emerging markets,” Michael McPhee, has warned that technology stocks are closely linked to bitcoin, and that if bitcoin prices fall, technology stocks will be hit hard and could easily trigger a stock market crash. Therefore, there is a reason to control bitcoin as a weapon.
Talking about the Communist Party’s recent launch of a blockchain-enabled electronic version of the yuan, Thiel was not impressed, saying, “That’s not really a cryptocurrency, it’s just some kind of totalitarian metric.”
In addition to cryptocurrencies, Thiel also criticized Silicon Valley giants such as Google and Facebook, and said the U.S. should censor Apple the most. “Apple is probably structurally the really big problem among tech companies, and Apple is the one company that has real synergy with China.”
Experts Reveal Truth About Beidou Navigation System’s ‘Drop’ That Killed People
The Chinese Communist Party’s Beidou global navigation and positioning system has completed its constellation of deployments, which officials say is another milestone in China’s “space program. However, a truck driver in Hebei recently died after swallowing a pesticide because he couldn’t face a fine due to a Beidou “drop”.
On June 23, 2020, the Communist Party of China (CPC) successfully launched the last satellite in the Beidou-3 network, completing the deployment of China’s Beidou global navigation and positioning system.
On April 5, Hebei truck driver Jin Deqiang was driving from Chengde to an over-limit checkpoint in the Fengrun District of Tangshan City when his Beidou positioning system “dropped out” and he was detained and fined 2,000 yuan. Afterwards, Jin Deqiang, who was found to have only 6,000 yuan in his bank account, thought that it was not his fault that Beidou was “offline” and felt wronged by the fine, so he drank pesticide.

Mr. Fang, a network expert familiar with the Beidou positioning system, said in an interview with Radio Free Asia on Thursday (April 8) that there might be a problem with the ground-based transmitting and receiving module of the Beidou satellite, but it was impossible to tell whether it was a technical failure or the quality of the module: “The satellite navigation system first needs a transmitting and receiving module, and since the satellite needs a lot of ground data for calculations in order to measure the position of an object on the ground. If the transmission capability is not up to par, it leads to dropouts. Also its receiving module receives the signal inaccurately, which still produces dropouts.”
