China’s Communist Party urges Beijingers to get the new crown vaccine in a strange way Financial Street Building identifies vaccination rates by color

The Communist Party of China (CPC) has made a strange move to promote vaccination of Beijingers against the new crown, with the Financial Street building identifying vaccination rates by color.

At a Macau native Portuguese restaurant, a 23-year-old manager named Xu said he and all 14 of his staff were vaccinated so his restaurant could be “green-labeled,” according to the Guardian. He said, “The color labeling started about half a month ago and having the green label really helps our sales.” “Customers who dine here feel safer, and now we’re really busy in the afternoon.”

So far, 145 million people in mainland China have been vaccinated with the new crown pneumonia vaccine. Xu said he has had two shots and acknowledged initial concerns about negative effects.

In a nearby building, a young guard surnamed Wang said he had received the vaccine a few days earlier. “It’s good to be unattached and able to work,” he said.

China has developed and produced several vaccines of its own, and its goal is to vaccinate 40 percent of its 1.4 billion people by the middle of this year, according to Caixin Media. China has averaged about 4.5 million doses of the new crown pneumonia vaccine per day over the past week, but 5 million people must be vaccinated daily to reach the goal of fully vaccinating 40 percent of the country’s population by June.

According to Bloomberg, many buildings on Beijing’s Financial Street are organizing in-building vaccination campaigns to make it easier for employees to get vaccinated while at work. Efforts to speed up vaccination efforts are adding additional pressure on local officials and businesses due to concerns that lagging vaccination rates could hamper economic recovery.
