On April 1, Kenny Chiu, MP, Vice Chair of the Canadian Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee (FAAE) Subcommittee on International Human Rights (SDIR), answered a question about violent attacks and intimidation against Chinese in North America in an interview with a New Tang Dynasty reporter, saying that people need to correctly distinguish between the CCP and Chinese (people), and that it is the CCP, not the Chinese, who are guilty. The CCP has caused the direct killing of tens of millions of Chinese people, but is misleading the world with propaganda and false information.
The CCP does not represent China and the Chinese
Speaking about the current discrimination and attacks on Chinese people in North America, Jinrong Zhao said that people should correctly distinguish between the CCP and Chinese (people). He stressed that it is most important to understand that the Chinese who are now scattered around the world and living in every corner of the planet are not guilty communists.
He said that for thousands of years, Chinese culture has been recognized as a highly developed culture on the planet. China is one of the countries with the longest civilization. And while the Communist Party was imported into China from Germany and the Soviet Union, “I think it is a foreign entity that has only been within China for a hundred years.”
He said, “Well-educated Canadians whether they are Chinese Canadians or others will understand that the Chinese Communist Party is not the same as Chinese and definitely not the same as Chinese culture and Chinese history. The CCP is only the current ruling party in China since 1949. But they do not represent the Chinese people.”
“It’s important for people to understand and to be reminded that criticism of the (Communist) regime, criticism of the government, cannot be equated with criticism of the country itself, let alone criticism of people of that race.”
He believes it is important that people understand this. “In this day and age, we are caught up in a lot of false information and narratives. Many people try to confuse this particular position and they will argue, ‘If you criticize us, then you are criticizing the country that we are controlling, and not only that, you are criticizing our people.'”
Communist China uses propaganda to brainwash the nation with false information to infiltrate overseas
Zhao Jinrong said that unfortunately the Chinese Communist Party is so lacking in confidence that they don’t even tolerate any criticism. That’s why, in addition to those who have installed VPNs and those who have fled the CCP’s control, more than a billion people are constantly plagued by (CCP) propaganda, disinformation and misinformation.
“And in Canada, in the Western world or in open societies, our oil pipe (YouTube) can actually find pro-communist (rhetoric), or indeed, these Chinese government propaganda statements exist on our social media. Foreign affairs rhetoric on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party is ‘free’ to distribute all these false allegations and arguments on our Twitter feed. People can even register and speak freely on WeChat without fear of sanctions (from Western countries) ……”
He believes that Canadians and people around the world can see through the fact that the CCP does not represent China as a whole, and all people within China, and in no way represents people of Chinese descent around the world, including those in Canada, the United States or elsewhere in the world.
“The world needs to make a discernment. What has the Communist regime in China done? It does not represent the entire country. …… In general, the Chinese people have also suffered under the Chinese Communist Party, which has historically caused the direct killing of tens of millions of Chinese people.”
Chinese Communist Party’s retaliatory sanctions are equivalent to sanctioning all Canadians
The Chinese Communist Party announced sanctions against three individuals from the U.S. and Canada and the Congressional Subcommittee on International Human Rights on March 27, with the intention of imposing retaliation in response to the Canadian Parliament’s 266-0 unopposed vote to pass a motion for mass extermination by the Chinese Communist Party and the sanctions imposed by the U.S., Canada and other countries against the Chinese Communist Party’s human rights villains. Zhao Jinrong, who is the vice chairman of the committee, said that the Chinese Communist Party’s attempt to threaten public representatives of democratic countries through sanctions is very bizarre.
We have been advocating that Canada’s Justin Trudeau government use the Magnitsky Act to sanction Chinese Communist Party officials responsible for atrocities and bring justice to the victims, Zhao said.
He said the Communist Party’s retaliatory sanctions against Canadian individuals and institutions are not directed at government officials, but at elected members of Parliament. By sanctioning the representatives of their constituents to vent their anger, the Chinese Communist Party is sanctioning the entire Canadian population, since it was the representatives of their constituents who passed the bill unanimously.
